Freebird didn’t begin with a business plan.

It began with our own children.

We’re Jessica and Jenn—best friends for decades, mothers, entrepreneurs, and two women who became increasingly unwilling to shrug our shoulders and accept “this is just how it’s done.” We wanted more for our children. More time. More wonder. More responsibility. More freedom to explore who God created them to be. More of the kind of childhood that becomes a foundation they can stand on for the rest of their lives.

Jessica comes to Freebird with a background in public education, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Georgia state teaching license. After years spent inside the traditional education system, she has seen firsthand both the incredible work teachers do and the limitations of a system that simply cannot be everything for every child. Jenn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and brings years of professional experience in the marketing world, along with the creativity, business sense, and entrepreneurial spirit that have helped turn more than one wild idea between two best friends into something real.

But our résumés aren't the reason Freebird exists. Our children are.

We believe childhood is extraordinarily short—and the years we have to shape, teach, know, and simply enjoy our children are even shorter. We don't want to rush them through it. We want muddy feet, worn-out books, big questions, meaningful work, strong families, beautiful traditions, real responsibility, belly laughs around the table, and plenty of time to just be little. We aren't interested in raising children who are merely good at school. We're developing capable, curious, compassionate, courageous human beings who know what they believe and why.

And we don't want to do it alone.

Freebird is a schoolhouse, but it's also a collective. We're walking alongside families who want to take a more active role in their children's education and upbringing—whether their children learn with us, learn at home, or their family simply needs encouragement, resources, and a community that believes childhood is worth protecting.

Above everything else, Christ is at the center. Always. He isn't an add-on to our curriculum or a box we check during the school day. Our faith shapes how we see children, families, truth, beauty, work, education, and one another.

Two best friends wanted something better for their children.

So we're doing something about it.
